ORDINANCE: O-2005-6
SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the City to convey an easement for sanitary sewer line to Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District to extend the existing sanitary sewer line located in South Garland Court to an existing sanitary sewer line located in the Bear Creek Greenbelt Park.
ADDRESS: 2800 South Estes Street.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood has been asked by Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District if the City would convey an easement for a sanitary sewer line across the Bear Creek Greenbelt Park. This easement would allow the District to connect the existing sanitary sewer line that is located in South Garland Court, which is a street that runs to the south side of the park, to an existing sanitary sewer trunk line that is located in park. The construction of this line will help the neighborhood to the south of the park disburse the sewage to the main trunk line in a more efficient manor thus reducing the potential for blockage of the sewer lines in the neighborhood. The conveyance of this easement, however, is contingent on Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District first obtaining an easement for a sanitary sewer line from the property owner at 9555 West Dartmouth Place which is required in order to complete this connection. Community Resources staff has reviewed this request and have no concerns.
