City of Lakewood Youth Commission Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 6th, 2005
Lakewood Link Conference Room
Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Amber Giroir, Blair Weigum, Josh Sylman, Marty from Lakewood Kwanis,
and
Kit from the City of Lakewood.
Welcome guests: Representative of The Second Wind Walk/Run
Minutes of last meeting: n/a
Reports: We discussed getting involved in new projects such as collecting money
for victims of hurricane Katrina, election awareness, and getting more involved
with the City of Lakewood.
Unfinished business: We reiterated the Youth Commission's involvement in the Second
Wind Walk/Run to benefit teen suicide prevention and discussed having a booth
at the walk/run site on Alameda and Mississippi.
New business: We thought it would be a good idea for the Youth Commission to get
involved with a rock-climbing wall project with the city in a possible supervisory
position; also, we talked about having special events at the skateboard park at
the Lakewood Link to benefit victims of Katrina
Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
