Regular Meeting of the Lakewood Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licensing Authority was held on this date in the City Council Chambers.
ITEM 1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Taake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Also present: Paul Kennebeck, Deputy City Attorney
Full and timely notice of this meeting had been given and a quorum was present.
ITEM 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting July 8, 2004
Regular Meeting July 22, 2004
Mr. Wolfe made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meetings of July
8, 2004 and July 22, 2004. It was seconded by Mr. Williams. With all those present
voting aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES CARRIED.
ITEM 4. NEW APPLICATION
Hotel & Restaurant License
Jus' Cookins, Corp. d/b/a Just' Cookins Restaurant
840 Tabor St.
Deputy City Attorney Kennebeck told the Authority he reviewed the application and all the paperwork appeared to be in order.
Steven Modlich, 7533 Sourdough Drive, Morrison, Colorado 80465, appeared before the Authority and was sworn in. He stated his wife and he were the owners of the restaurant. Mr. Modlich answered questions regarding the layout of the building and server training. He stated that alcohol sales were 2-3% of his total sales. There will be no bar, only table service.
Kelly Pietrs, Esquire Petitioning, 2792 S. Wray Street, Denver, Colorado 80210, appeared before the Authority and was sworn in. She stated she was responsible for conducting the survey of the neighborhood needs and desires. Ms. Pietrs explained how the survey was conducted and how the results were calculated. The survey was favorable for the applicant being granted a liquor license.
No one in the audience came forward to speak in favor or opposition to the license being granted and the public hearing was closed.
Ms. Hansson moved that the application for a hotel & restaurant license for Jus' Cookins, Corp., d/b/a Jus' Cookins Restaurant, 840 Tabor Street, be approved. The motion was seconded, and with those present voting Aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION CARRIED.
ITEM 5. NEW APPLICATION
Hotel & Restaurant License
Tulum, Inc. d/b/a/ Tulum
5800 W. Alameda Ave., #G-K
Attorney Normando Pacheco, 2371 Locust Street, Denver, Colorado 80207, Supreme Court registration #5296, appeared before the Authority on behalf of the owner, and was sworn in.
Monica Toscano, 4340 W. Warren Drive, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, appeared before the Authority and was sworn in. She answered questions from the Authority regarding the operations of the events center.
Deputy City Attorney Paul Kennebeck noted that the Police Department made no recommendation regarding the approval of the license.
Ms. Hansson moved that the application for a hotel & restaurant license
for Tulum, Inc., d/b/a/ Tulum, 5800 W. Alameda Avenue, #G-K, be approved. The
motion was seconded, and with those present voting Aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE
THE APPLICATION CARRIED.
ITEM 6. GENERAL BUSINESS
Chairman Taake stated that the Authority's Christmas Party would be discussed at the next meeting.
ITEM 7. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Authority, Chairman Taake adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m.
