RESOLUTION: 2004-91

SUBJECT: Certify expenditures to, and request reimbursement from, Jefferson County Open Space for development expenditures of the Lakewood Link Recreation Center Skate Feature.

ADDRESS: 1295 S. Reed Street, Lakewood, CO

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended City Council authorize the Department of Community Resources to request reimbursement from Jefferson County Open Space, in the amount of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) for work completed during the period of June 1, 2003 through August 31, 2004.

FUNDING SOURCE: County Open Space Grant

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In 2003, the City of Lakewood was awarded a grant from Jefferson County Open Space for the Lakewood Link Recreation Center Skate Feature Project. This project was a community effort to establish a recreation option for young people. Designed by youth in the area surrounding the Link Recreation Center, the skate feature offers rails, steps and ramps for in-line and skateboarding. The Department of Community Resources has completed this project and is now requesting reimbursement.
