RESOLUTION: 2004-84
SUBJECT: Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Metro Mayors Caucus related to stewardship of water resources in the Denver metropolitan area.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 31-member Metro Mayors Caucus has requested that all members pass a resolution of support for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that promotes wise management and stewardship of Denver metropolitan water resources. The MOU was developed by a subcommittee of the Caucus. It in no way binds the City of Lakewood or any other member community to a particular project or practice. The purpose of the MOU is to coordinate where possible in education regarding the reduction of water consumption and to voice a strong, unified message that urges water providers to use Best Management Practices to improve efficiencies and reduce demand on resources.
