RESOLUTION: 2004-81

SUBJECT: Bid Award for 14th Avenue Sidewalk Construction from Harlan to Fenton and from Estes to Dover and an Eiber Neighborhood Sign

RECOMMENDATION: Approval.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: On August 31, 2004 bids for 14th Avenue Sidewalk Construction from Harlan to Fenton and from Estes to Dover, Bid No. 2486, were opened and the firm of Concrete Construction Specialties, LLC was the lowest responsive, responsible and qualified bidder with a bid of $111,428.65. A $15,000 contingency is requested for minor changes for a total contract amount not to exceed $126,428.65.

This project consists of approximately 650 feet of sidewalk along the south side of 14th Avenue from Harlan Street to Fenton Street and 250 of sidewalk around the southeast corner of 14th Avenue and Estes Street. These sidewalks provide neighborhood connections to Mount Air Park and Richey Park. Also included in the project is an Eiber Neighborhood sign on 10th Avenue west of Wadsworth Boulevard.
