A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD'S APPLICATION FOR U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT SECTION 108 PUBLIC FACILITIES FUNDS

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is an "entitlement community" and is appropriated Community Development Block Grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is eligible as an "entitlement community" to apply for Public Facilities funds that meet the national objective of enhancing low to moderate income areas, in accordance with Section 108, Subpart 570.208(a)(1), and

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to respond to the need for certain public facilities improvements within the community in a more timely and fiscally prudent manner; and

WHEREAS, the application of Section 108 funds will not result in additional expense to the City of Lakewood nor its residents;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado hereby authorizes application for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Section 108, Public Facilities funds.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 9 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on July 26, 2004, at 7 o'clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
