A RESOLUTION

AMENDING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH METRO WASTEWATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT (METRO) TO DELEGATE ADDITIONAL PRETREATMENT /INDUSTRIAL WASTE CONTROL PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES FROM LAKEWOOD'S SANITARY SEWER UTILITY TO METRO

WHEREAS, in 1994 Lakewood's Sanitary Sewer Utility entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (Metro) to delegate a significant portion of Pretreatment /Industrial Waste Control Program responsibilities to Metro; and,

WHEREAS, Metro desires to assume additional responsibility for reporting functions related to Pretreatment /Industrial Waste Control; and,

WHEREAS, Metro will provide these additional reporting functions at no additional cost to Lakewood's Sanitary Sewer Utility.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an amended intergovernmental agreement with the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District, in a form approved by the City Attorney, to delegate additional Pretreatment /Industrial Waste Control responsibilities from Lakewood's Sanitary Sewer Utility to Metro.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on June 28, 2004, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center South, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
