RESOLUTION: 2004-58
SUBJECT: Appoint three persons to the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District Board of Directors.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the Lakewood City Council's July 28, 2003 meeting approval was granted for the creation of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District (ACBID). Along with this official action the Council also provided for the organization of the District Board of Directors. Per state statute should any Board Director position become vacant the City Council appoints a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacant Board seat.
Ms. Tracey Nobil, ACBID Director tendered her resignation from the Board of Directors. The ACBID nominated Ms. Barbara Teich to serve in place of Ms. Nobil for her new term of three years, which commences on July 1, 2004 and will expire on June 30, 2007. Ms. Barbara Teich is the property manager for the Lakewood City Commons and is employed by Transwestern Commercial Services.
Mr. John Buckley and Mr. Jim Westbrook are currently Directors for the ACBID, with terms expiring on June 30, 2004. Their new terms run from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2007. Mr. Buckley is the property owner for Alameda Crossing Shopping Center, 225 South Sheridan Boulevard and Mr. Westbrook is the business owner and operator of Columbine Applications, 275 South Jay Street.

NOMINATION OF BOARD MEMBERS
THE UNDERSIGNED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District hereby certifies that at a duly called and constituted meeting of the Board of Directors of the said District held May 27, 2004, the Board of Directors voted to submit the nominations of Barbara Teich, John Buckley and Jim Westbrook to the Lakewood City Council for approval and appointment to the Board of Directors of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District
IT IS FURTHER CERTIFIED THAT the terms of appointment for Barbara Teich, John Buckley and Jim Westbrook shall be for three (3) consecutive years per Lakewood City Ordinance 2003-18 with said terms commencing July 1, 2004 and expiring June 30, 2007.
