A RESOLUTION

APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF INDIANA STREET BETWEEN SIXTH AVENUE AND SOUTH GOLDEN ROAD TO DENVER WEST COLORADO MILLS BOULEVARD; FURTHER, THE RENAMING OF DENVER WEST BOULEVARD BETWEEN INDIANA STREET AND WEST COLFAX AVENUE TO COLORADO MILLS PARKWAY

WHEREAS, Section 31-15-702(1)(a)(VII) C.R.S. authorizes the City Council to name and change the name of any street; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to change the name of certain streets, as more particularly set forth herein.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado hereby approves the change of street name, "Indiana Street" to "Denver West Colorado Mills Boulevard", commencing at the city limits of the intersection of 6th Avenue and Indiana Street, thence north to the intersection of Indiana Street and South Golden Road.

SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves the change of street name, "Denver West Boulevard" to "Colorado Mills Parkway", commencing at the intersection of Indiana Street and Denver West Boulevard, thence generally east and north until its intersection with West Colfax Avenue.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to implement these street name changes, including appropriate notification to utility companies, fire departments, postal authorities, and other effected agencies.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on April 12th, 2004, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., at Lakewood City Hall, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
