RESOLUTION: 2004-43
SUBJECT: Joint Venture between Jefferson County Housing Authority (JCHA) and the Lakewood Housing Authority (LHA) to acquire 73 units of rental property
ADDRESS: 5990,6980, 7010 and 7030 West Cedar Ave., Lakewood.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize JCHA to Joint Venture with LHA on this purchase.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds will come from both JCHA and LHA.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The 2 Housing Authorities have been
working on this joint venture for over 1 year. This will allow the 2 agencies
to work cooperatively to acquire these 2 rental properties, north of Belmar,
and effect a significant rehab of same. The net result will be twofold:
1) Create affordable housing for Belmar workers.
2) Enable the rehab of 2 properties which sorely need it.
