A RESOLUTION

FOR THE ADOPTION OF A NAME AND MASTER PLAN FOR AVIATION PARK.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood acquired several parcels of land at 1900 and 1890 Teller Street in 1999 and 2002 respectively for park purposes; and

WHEREAS, the neighbors attending the planning meetings recommend that the park be named to relate to the former use of the site.

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources has solicited park development desires from the community around Aviation Park; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for the orderly development of Aviation Park to meet the recreational needs and desires of the community; and

WHEREAS, funding for the development of Aviation Park has been secured.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The name of the park located at 1900 Teller Street shall be "Aviation Park".

SECTION 2. The Master Plan for Aviation Park dated March 2004 is hereby adopted, and shall be used as a guide for the development of park site.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on April 12, 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
