A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND LEHMAN COMMUNICATIONS CORP. FOR PRINTING AND MAIL PREPARATION OF LOOKING AT LAKEWOOD AND COMMUNITY CONNECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
WHEREAS, Section 3.04.070 of the Lakewood Municipal Code requires that any purchase costing $50,000 or more that is not acquired through a competitive bid process be approved by City Council; and
WHEREAS, Lehman Communications has served as the printer for Looking at Lakewood, the city's newsletter, and Community Connection, the catalog for the Community Resources Department, for more than 10 years. Lehman has been the successful bidder in the past because of its ability to provide both printing and bulk mail preparation services needed for both Looking at Lakewood and Community Connection.
WHEREAS, Lehman Communications has agreed to a one-year contract with the option to renew for four years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:
SECTION 1. The City is hereby authorized to enter a single source contract with Lehman Communications Corp. for printing and mail preparation services for Looking at Lakewood and Community Connection. The contract also includes mail preparation for Bravo, the Heritage, Culture and Arts Division's publication. Said contract shall have a cost of $92,200 with a contingency amount not to exceed 10 percent, or $9,220, to allow for additional pages in Looking at Lakewood or Community Connection. This contract, however, does not include the cost of postage.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute and the City Clerk to
attest a contract, in form approved by the City Attorney, related to the project
set forth above.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage
and approval.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 9, 2004 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
