A RESOLUTION

ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2004 SANITARY SEWER MAIN RECONSTRUCTION

WHEREAS, by Invitation to Bid No. 2446, the City of Lakewood advertised for bids for 2004 Sanitary Sewer Main Reconstruction on January 22, 2004; and,

WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible and qualified bidder has been determined to be Scott Contracting Incorporated which has submitted its bid in the amount of $857,238.80 pursuant to City specifications and instruction, and the City desires to accept the bid of said bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The bid of Scott Contracting Incorporated for 2004 Sanitary Sewer Main Reconstruction as described in Invitation to Bid No. 2446 is hereby accepted according to specifications as defined in the Invitation to Bid.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with said bidder in form approved by the City Attorney in the amount of Eight Hundred Fifty-seven Thousand, Two Hundred Thirty-eight and 80/100 dollars ($857,238.80) and to authorize up to an additional ten percent, Eighty-five Thousand, Seven Hundred Twenty-three and 88/100 dollars ($85,723.88) for contingencies for a total contract amount not to exceed Nine Hundred Forty-two Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixty-two and 68 /100 dollars ($942,962.68).

SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to Scott Contracting Incorporated in accordance with the terms of said contract.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 23, 2004 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
