A RESOLUTION

APPROVING THE LAKEWOOD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ACTION STEPS AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAKEWOOD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

WHEREAS, The City Charter provides for the preparation, adoption and amendment of the Comprehensive Plan by resolution of the Planning Commission and approval by resolution by City Council; and

WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan was adopted by the Planning Commission on February 19, 2003; and

WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan was approved by City Council on May 12, 2003; and

WHEREAS, The primary intent of the Comprehensive Plan is to express the Community's vision for the future, guide decision making, and serve as a work program for the City; and

WHEREAS, The development of Action Steps serve as specific strategies to implement the vision, goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission developed the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan Action Steps through a public process; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan Action Steps on December 17, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan Action Steps was published pursuant to State Statutes in the Lakewood Sentinel and the High Timber Times, and

WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the public testimony received, the action of the Planning Commission, and the staff report and recommendation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, that:

SECTION 1. The Lakewood Comprehensive Plan Action Steps, as presented to City Council and dated January 2004, are hereby approved as an amendment to the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan.

SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to affix their signatures on this Resolution as evidence of the approval of the same by the City Council.

SECTION 3. A copy of the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan Action Steps shall be kept on file in the City Clerk's Office, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by the vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on January 26, 2004, at 7 o'clock p.m., at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
