REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: O-2004-27

SUBJECT: Rezoning Case Number RZ-03-007

Rezone existing property to modify the existing Trailerland Development Plan in order to allow for the use of self-storage.

ADDRESS: 5991 West Colfax Avenue

APPLICANT: Harvey L. Saipe, Property Owner

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this rezoning request to allow for the construction five (5) self-storage buildings and one (1) live-in manager's unit and office. Planning Commission, by a vote of 6-0 at the June 16, 2004 meeting, recommended APPROVAL of this request by City Council.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The applicant has applied to the City for a rezoning request to modify the existing Trailerland Development Plan to allow for the use of self-storage on the property located at 5991 West Colfax Avenue. The applicant is requesting the rezoning in order to construct five (5) self-storage buildings and one (1) live-in manager's unit and office. The property is approximately 2. 49 acres in size and is currently undeveloped and used for the outdoor storage of recreational vehicles.
