Rezone property located at 7605 West Arizona Avenue from 5-R (Higher Density Residential) to PD (Planned Development) to allow for the use of mini-storage.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this rezoning request to allow for the construction of six (6) self-storage buildings and one (1) live-in manager's unit and office. Planning Commission, by a vote of 6-0 at the November 17, 2004 meeting, recommended APPROVAL of this request by City Council.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The applicant has applied to the City for a rezoning request to rezone the property located at 7605 West Arizona Avenue from 5-R (Higher Density Residential) to PD (Planned Development) to allow for the use of mini-storage. The applicant is requesting the rezoning in order to construct six (6) self-storage buildings and one (1) live-in manager's unit and office. The property is approximately 4.60-acres in size and is currently vacant.
