ORDINANCE: O-2004-47
SUBJECT: Proposed ordinance amendments to 8.14.060(B)(3&4), 8.14.090(B)(D)(E)(G)(H)(I)(J), 9.80.090(B)(C)(D)(F)(G)(H)(I), 9.85.060(B)(4&5), 9.85.090(B)(C)(D), 10.66.300(B), 10.66.310(A)(D) of the Lakewood Municipal Code increasing administrative fees by approximately 4% associated with the removal and enforcement of code violations in the sections identified above.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance amendment request by the Mayor and City Council.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In 1996, City Council resolved to
increase fees annually based on operational cost increases each year. Therefore,
this proposed annual increase of administrative fees is again a 4% increase.
The fee increases in these areas are consistent in an effort to simplify billing
processes. The increase in fees range approximately from $4 to $36, the higher
fees identified in the ordinance are associated with repeat violators who are
billed for a clean-up, and then a lien is placed against the property due to
lack of payment.
