APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from August 18, 2004 commission meeting were approved by a unanimous vote.

Public Comment: Johann Cohen asked if the HCA Commission was involved in the stegosaurus project and if not where should he go to find out more information. Niña Johnson referred him to Kathy Berls from the Lakewood Arts Council.

Niña Johnson introduced artist Sara Howell. Sara wants to donate a totem to the City of Lakewood. Sara gave a presentation to the City Council last week and is now presenting to the commission for comment. The totem is 12' and carved out of red cedar. Bill Jewell, Manager of Urban Parks, is interested in placing the totem at the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center. The totem would be used as an educational piece.

Linda Morton, former Mayor of Lakewood, and Sara's mother spoke in support of accepting the totem.

David Wiechman moved to accept the totem. Letitia Williams seconded the motion. The motion was accepted by a unanimous yes vote.

SPOTLIGHT - Donald Tallman
Donald gave a brief bio himself. With a general consensus that he sings the National Anthem that way it should be sung!
