A RESOLUTION

SUPPORTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE REQUESTING FUNDING FOR A THIRD PHASE OF IMPROVEMENTS AT GARY R. MCDONNELL PARK.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has adopted the Master Development Plan for Gary R. McDonnell Park; and

WHEREAS, the first and second phases of development of Gary R. McDonnell Park are fully funded; and

WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council desires to continue the development of Gary R. McDonnell Park for the benefit of the community; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources is applying for a grant from Jefferson County Open Space for a third phase of improvements at Gary R. McDonnell Park; and

WHEREAS, Jefferson County Open Space requires a resolution supporting the grant application from the governing body of the agency applying for the grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby support the grant application to Jefferson County Open Space for improvements at Gary R. McDonnell Park.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on November 24, 2003, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
