A RESOLUTION

SUPPORTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT AVIATION CLUB PARK.

WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council desires the development of Aviation Club Park for the benefit of the community; and

WHEREAS, the Edgewood Neighborhood is deficient of neighborhood park facilities; and

WHEREAS, the Edgewood Neighborhood Plan recommends improving additional park land in the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources is applying for a grant from Jefferson County Open Space for the first phase of improvements at Aviation Club Park; and

WHEREAS, Jefferson County Open Space requires a resolution supporting the grant application from the governing body of the agency applying for the grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby support the grant application to Jefferson County Open Space for improvements at Aviation Club Park.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on November 24, 2003, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
