RESOLUTION: 2003-79

SUBJECT: A Resolution lengthening the terms and changing the expiration date of the terms of the members of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission.

RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Resolution.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER City Council requested that the expiration date of the terms of the members of certain boards and commissions of the City of Lakewood be made uniform by requiring the terms of service to end on either March 31 or September 30 of the last year of the member's term. City Council also requested that the terms of the members of the Cultural Diversity Commission and the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission be lengthened.

Currently the term of a member of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission is two years. This Resolution increases the term to three years, commencing immediately.

Currently the term of a member of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission ends on January 15 of the last year of the member's term. This ordinance shall change the expiration date of the current members of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission to March 31 of the last year of the member's term.

FUNDING SOURCE: No funding.
