A RESOLUTION
CHANGING THE EXPIRATION DATE OF THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HERITAGE, CULTURE & THE ARTS COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Heritage, Culture & the Arts Commission was created by City Council in 1999 by Resolution 99-29 to build and provide access for community residents to a diverse offering of programs that offer multiple cultural disciplines and community interests at City of Lakewood cultural facilities; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 99-29 established staggered three year terms which expire on July 1st and July 15th of the member's third year in office; and
WHEREAS, City Council finds that it will be more efficient and practical to change the expiration date of the term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The current term expiration date for members of the Heritage, Culture & the Arts Commission is July 1st or July 15th of the last year of the member's term. Said expiration date is hereby changed to September 30th of the last year of the member's term.
SECTION 2. The Mayor may appoint one or more City Council members to serve
as liaison to the Heritage, Culture & the Arts Commission. The City Manager
may appoint one or more staff members to serve as liaison to the Heritage,
Culture & the Arts Commission.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage
and approval.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 9 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on October 13, 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
