RESOLUTION: 2003-76
SUBJECT: A Resolution lengthening the terms and changing the expiration date of the terms of the members of the Cultural Diversity Commission.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Resolution.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: City Council requested that the expiration date of the terms of the members of certain boards and commissions of the City of Lakewood be made uniform by requiring the terms of service to end on either March 31 or September 30 of the last year of the member's term. City Council also requested that the terms of the members of the Cultural Diversity Commission and the Senior Citizens' Advisory Commission be lengthened.
Currently the term of a member of the Cultural Diversity Commission is two years. This Resolution increases the term to four years, commencing immediately.
Currently the term of a member of the Cultural Diversity Commission ends on August 26 of the last year of the member's term. This ordinance shall change the expiration date of the current members of the Cultural Diversity Commission to September 30 of the last year of the member's term.
FUNDING SOURCE: No funding.
