A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CDOT) FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS AT KIPLING PARKWAY AND MORRISON ROAD.

WHEREAS, the existing intersection at Kipling Parkway and Morrison Road needs improvement; and

WHEREAS, State and Federal funds of $1,762,000 are available to design and build intersection improvements; and

WHEREAS, administration of the project will be coordinated through the Colorado Department of Transportation and requires the City enter into an agreement regarding design and construction of the intersection improvements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, an agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), in form approved by the City Attorney, for design and construction of the improvements to the Kipling Parkway and Morrison Road intersection. The City of Lakewood's contribution shall not exceed Two Hundred Seventy Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($270,000).

SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to the Colorado Department of Transportation in accordance with said contract.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City council on September 8, 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
