A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE JEFFERSON COUNTY TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY AND ADVOCACY GROUP (JEFFTAGG)
WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood endorsed by Resolution in 1998 the Jefferson County Countywide Transportation Plan (CWTP) as a planning tool that accurately reflects transportation needs within the City of Lakewood; and
WHEREAS, the plan has received widespread public input and discussion in identifying and prioritizing project needs; and
WHEREAS, the plan endorses the City's desire for a multimodal approach to transportation planning; and
WHEREAS, the plan recognizes the high priority that needs to be placed on improving north/south travel corridors throughout the county, particularly Wadsworth and Kipling; and
WHEREAS, the plan offers a realistic, fiscally constrained approach to addressing City transportation needs; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County and the cities within Jefferson County agree that it is important to have a workable forum to discuss and develop recommendations for funding transportation projects throughout Jefferson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The City of Lakewood hereby lends its support to the efforts of JEFFTAAG in investigating available funding sources and advocating funding allocations necessary to complete improvements outlined in the Countywide Transportation Plan, and
SECTION 2. The City of Lakewood hereby authorizes the Mayor to appoint one
council member and one staff member to represent the City of Lakewood on JEFFTAAG.

meeting of the City Council on , 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic
Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
