Request for Council Action for Resolution 2003-52 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

RESOLUTION: 2003-52

SUBJECT: Authorization of an intergovernmental agreement between Lakewood, Denver, Arvada & Littleton for the establishment of an association to select suitable projects for transit-oriented development (TOD). This association will be facilitated through the office of the Metro Mayors' Caucus.

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council authorize the Mayor to enter into the IGA.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In February of 2003, Council authorized the contribution of $3,404,725 of Lakewood's Private Activity Bond Cap for the purpose of providing a Metro-wide pool for the financing of affordable multi-family TOD's. This IGA provides a mechanism for selecting projects that will fit the criteria established by the Metro Mayors' Caucus.
