A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND PADCOM INC. FOR SOFTWARE THAT PROVIDES WIRELESS NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS FOR POLICE MOBILE UNITS

WHEREAS, Section 3.04.070 of the Lakewood Municipal Code requires that any purchase costing $50,000 or more which is not acquired through a competitive bid process be approved by City Council; and

WHEREAS, the City is in the process of implementing a new Police Technology System that includes a wireless data network for Police mobile units; and

WHEREAS, Padcom Inc. has agreed to provide the software product necessary for the implementation of wireless data networking of Police mobile units.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City is hereby authorized to enter into a single source contract with Padcom Inc. for software and services. Said contract shall have a cost of $97,175.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest a contract, in form approved by the City Attorney, related to the project set forth above.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on July 14, 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
