A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF ANIMAL CONTROL VEHICLE
TO TABLE MOUNTAIN ANIMAL CENTER (TMAC)

WHEREAS, The Lakewood Police Department Animal Control Section vehicle # 313 is currently being replaced under the normal fleet services schedule; and

WHEREAS, under an intergovernmental agreement the City of Lakewood utilizes TMAC as its impound, shelter, and adoption facility; and

WHEREAS, TMAC is required to transport animals to veterinarians for spay/neuter surgery prior to adoption; and

WHEREAS, TMAC participates in off-site adoptions and community events which require transportation of TMAC staff, animals, and materials; and

WHEREAS, the donation of this replaced vehicle to TMAC would assist the Center in providing services to Lakewood citizens and to Jefferson County residents.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:

1) The City Council hereby authorizes the donation of the 1998 GMC van, VIN# 1GTGG25R0W1101801, value approximately $5,000, to Table Mountain Animal Center.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 9 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on June 23, 2003, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
