RESOLUTION: 2003-48
SUBJECT: Acceptance of Deeds for West Two Creeks Neighborhood Park
ADDRESS: 7510 West 12th Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80214
RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Community Resources recommends the adoption of this resolution accepting deeds for the establishment of a West Two Creeks Neighborhood Park.
FUNDING SOURCE: Jefferson County Open Space
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Since the adoption of the Molholm Area plan in 1996, the Departments of Community Resources and Community Planning and Development have been searching for suitable land for park and open space in the area bounded by Pierce Street and Wadsworth Boulevard, and Colfax Avenue and 6th Avenue. In June of 2001, the City of Lakewood asked the Jefferson County Open Space Program to pursue the acquisition of several parcels for park and open space in the block bounded by Wadsworth Boulevard and Vance Street, and 10th Avenue and 12th Avenue. Since the first of June, Jefferson County has closed on three of the desired parcels for the future park. Additional parcels will be transferred in the near future. The City Policy requires formal acceptance of real estate by the City Council. This resolution will facilitate the transfer of these and future parcels from Jefferson County to the City of Lakewood in this area.
