AS AMENDED MAY 12, 2003

A RESOLUTION

APPROVING THE LAKEWOOD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council has the authority to review and approve the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan as adopted by the Lakewood Planning Commission; and

WHEREAS, on May 12, 2003, the Lakewood City Council held a public hearing at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado to consider approval of the City of Lakewood Comprehensive Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan was published pursuant to State Statutes in the Lakewood Sentinel and the High Timber Times, and

WHEREAS, the Lakewood Planning Commission unanimously adopted the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan at a public hearing on February 19, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan will be composed of two components containing a) goals and policies and b) action steps; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission devoted numerous study sessions to developing and reviewing the Plan; and

WHEREAS, Town Meetings, citizen surveys, a test group meeting, numerous presentations to special interest groups and drafts made available to the public on the City web site have been utilized to gain citizen input: and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Planning Commission to continue to develop and to adopt the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan action steps through a public process; and

WHEREAS, each of the amendments to the previously adopted Lakewood Comprehensive Plan including neighborhood plans, corridor plans and special area plans are to remain in effect; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the public testimony received, the action of the Planning Commission, and the staff report and recommendation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, that:

SECTION 1. The Lakewood Comprehensive Plan, including text and maps, as presented to City Council and dated February 2003, is hereby approved.

SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to affix their signatures on this Resolution as evidence of the approval of the same by the City Council.

SECTION 3. A copy of the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan shall be kept on file in the City Clerk's Office, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
