RESOLUTION: 2003-13

SUBJECT: Approval of the acceptance of a $150,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to construct park improvements at Gary R. McDonnell Park.

RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Community Resources recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution supporting the acceptance of the GOCO grant.

FUNDING SOURCE: Great Outdoors Colorado Grant - $150,000; Jefferson County Open Space Grant - $150,000; Colorado Youth Corp - $1,400; Private Fund Contributions - $12,000

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood submitted a grant application to GOCO for funds to assist in the development of Gary R. McDonnell Park. The grant was approved by GOCO for the full amount requested, $150,000. GOCO requires a resolution of support from the governing body in order to execute the grant agreement.
