A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WATERSLIDE AT MORSE PARK SWIMMING POOL AND APPROVE ENTERING INTO A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH CHURCHICH RECREATION FOR THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION OF THIS WATERSLIDE.

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to replace the waterslide at Morse Park Swimming Pool; and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to utilize funds from the Department of Community Resources' Capital Improvement Fund for this waterslide replacement; and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase such waterslide from Churchich Recreation as a single source supplier who has a proven track record of safety, durability, and desirable product features.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado that:

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby approves and authorizes the expenditure of funds from the Department of Community Resources' Capital Improvement Fund in the amount of $92,650.00 (Ninety Two Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars) for the replacement of the waterslide at Morse Park Swimming Pool.

SECTION 2. The City is hereby authorized to enter into a single source contract in the amount of $92,650.00 (Ninety Two Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars) with Churchich Recreation for the acquisition and installation of a waterslide at Morse Park Swimming Pool.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with Churchich Recreation in form approved by the City Attorney, related to the acquisition and installation of a waterslide as set forth above.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by the vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on January 13, 2003, at 7 o'clock p.m., at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
