AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 2.21.015 OF THE LAKEWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE TERM OF MEMBERS OF THE JUDICIAL REVIEW COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Judicial Review Commission was created by the City Council in 1984 for the purpose of investigating complaints about Municipal Judges and recommending to City Council what action should be taken in response to complaints; and,
WHEREAS, the members of the Judicial Review Commission serve four year terms which end on February 12th of the last year of the term; and,
WHEREAS, City Council finds that it will be more efficient and practical to change the expiration date of the term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED By The City Council of The City of Lakewood, Colorado, That:
Section 1. Section 2.21.015 of the Lakewood Municipal Code is hereby amended
by the addition of a new subsection C to read as follows:
C. The term of office of a member of the Judicial Review Committee shall end
on March 31st of the last year of the member's term.
Section 2. Effective date. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after final publication.
I hereby attest and certify that the within and foregoing ordinance was introduced and read on first reading at a regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council on the 13th day of October, 2003; published in full in the Lakewood Sentinel on the 16th day of October, 2003; set for public hearing on the 27th day of October, 2003; read, finally passed and adopted by the City Council on the 27th day of October, 2003; and signed and approved by the Mayor on the 28th day of October, 2003.
