Request for Council Action for Ordinance 2003-24 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: 2003-24

SUBJECT: Authorizing an Amendment to the Service Contract between the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District and the City of Lakewood.

ADDRESS: N/A

RECOMMENDATION: Approval

FUNDING SOURCE: N/A

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The Metro Wastewater Reclamation District Board of Directors have recommended three amendments to the service plan between the District and all of its customers including the City of Lakewood. Section 301a is being deleted in its entirety. It relates to a now obsolete condition, dating back to 1967, associated with the Fruitdale Sanitation District. The second change provides for moving the final adjustment of charges for the preceding year from the regular meeting of March to no later than June. This allows more time for processing numbers and for review. The third and final change provides that the method of allocation of annual charges and determination of rates for Republic Paperboard Company will be changed from a custom method to the method used for all other customers of Metro Wastewater's service.
