ORDINANCE: O-2003-23
SUBJECT: Ordinance to approve the vacation of South Reed Street and South Reed Court between West Alaska Drive and West Virginia Place in Villa Italia Shopping Center Subdivision Filing No. 2 in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 14, Township 4 South, Range 69 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, City of Lakewood, County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
ADDRESS: The 450 block of South Reed Street & South Reed Court in the BelMar project area.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the ordinance to vacate these streets.
FUNDING SOURCE: Application fee.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Blocks 15 16 and 17 of the Villa Italia Shopping Center Subdivision Filing No.
2 were platted based on a conceptual plan for residential development in this
section of the BelMar project area. As detailed plans were being drafted for
this area, it was determined that a wider alley is needed in Block 15. South
Reed Street and South Reed Court provide more than adequate width for the proposed
development. The vacation of these streets will allow the developer to re-plat
them in order to accommodate a specific development that is currently being
processed.
These roads have not been constructed. The vacation of these roadways will have no adverse impact on any other properties.
