Request for Council Action for Resolution 2003-19 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: O-2003-19

SUBJECT: Emergency ordinance authorizing the City to convey Easement and Right-of-way Agreement for utility line facilities to Public Service Company across Heritage Hill Park located at 11400 West Asbury Court.

ADDRESS: 11400 West Asbury Court.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the Right-of-way Agreement to Public Service Company.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Public Service Company has asked the City for a utility easement across Heritage Hill Park which was conveyed to the City by the plat of Heritage West Filing No 8, as part of the plat's open space requirement. This park has never been developed and there are no future plans to improve this park. This easement is necessary to allow Public Service Company to construct a feeder line between two existing transformers. This new feeder line will help alleviate the demand on other feeder lines, which are burning up, because of high demand from the residences of Lakewood for more power due to the high temperatures. Staff has reviewed the proposed utility line and determined that it is in the right location and will not interfere with the future use of the City land.
