AN ORDINANCE

AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 17-14-5 (1)(w) and (2) OF THE LAKEWOOD ZONING ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF A FLOOD PLAIN INSURANCE MAP, OFFICIAL FLOOD STUDIES, AND THE OFFICIAL FLOOD HAZARD MAP

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood adopted Ordinance 17-14-1 relating to flood plain management; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Subsections 17-14-5 (1)(w) and (2) to update certain studies related to flood plain insurance studies.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED By The City Council of The City of Lakewood, Colorado, That:

SECTION 1. Subsection 17-14-5 (1)(w) of the Lakewood Zoning Ordinance is amended to read as follows:

(w) Flood Insurance Study prepared for the Federal Insurance Administration by the United States Army Engineering District, Corps of Engineers, Omaha, Nebraska, 1971, and the Flood Insurance Study for Jefferson County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, 2003.

SECTION 2. Subsection 17-14-5 (2) the Lakewood Zoning Ordinance is amended to read as follows:

(2) The official flood studies listed as (a) through (v) above and any amendments to the 1971 Flood Insurance Study or 2003 Flood Insurance Study (w) are to be used in all cases for administration of this Article.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect forty-five (45) days after final publication.

I hereby attest and certify that the within and foregoing ordinance was introduced and read on first reading at a regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council on the 24th day of March, 2003; published in full in the Lakewood Sentinel on the 27th, day of March, 2003; set for public hearing on the 14th day of April, 2003; read, finally passed and adopted by the City Council on the 14th day of April, 2003; and signed and approved by the Mayor on the 15th day of April, 2003.
