P R O C L A M A T I O N
Recognizing Friday, October 24, 2003
as
Jean Saum Day
WHEREAS, Council Member Jean Saum has provided the employees and residents of the City of Lakewood eight outstanding years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, during her eight years on Council, Ms. Saum has served as council president and has sat on numerous committees such as the Jefferson County Community Corrections Board, Judges Salary Committee, Legislative Committee, Screening Committee, Commission on Cultural Diversity, Sister Cities, Senior Citizens Advisory Commission and served as secretary and treasurer of the Jeffco Governments organization; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Saum was among the founders of Lakewood on Parade 27 years ago, and has worked on the board of directors and various committees staging the annual community celebration each year since. She has also been active in the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County for several years; and
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of the City of Lakewood, I Steve Burkholder, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby recognize, Friday, October 24 as
JEAN SAUM DAY
in the City of Lakewood and wish to thank and honor her for her many contributions to our community.
