Regular Meeting of the Lakewood Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licensing Authority was held on this date in the City Council Chambers.
ITEM 1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Taake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Also present: Paul Kennebeck, Deputy City Attorney
Full and timely notice of this meeting had been given and a quorum was present.
ITEM 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting June 26, 2003
Ms. Hansson moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of the Lakewood Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licensing Authority of June 26, 2003, as amended. The motion was seconded and with those present voting Aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES CARRIED.
ITEM 4. NEW APPLICATION
3.2% Off Premise Fermented Malt Beverage License
NEA Unlimited, Inc., d/b/a NEA
5200 W. Colfax Ave.
Deputy City Attorney Paul Kennebeck stated that he had reviewed the application and all the paperwork appeared to be in order. This store has been in operation for many years without selling alcohol and that's why this is a new application.
Tahereh Little, 5200 W. Colfax Ave., appeared before the Authority and was sworn in. She testified that she had repossessed the store and would like to begin selling 3.2% beer. She hasn't attended any alcohol classes yet, but will sign up for a future class. Her first set of petitions were done by somebody else and when she found out how few signatures were valid, she circulated another set of petitions
The public testimony was closed.
The Authority discussed the application amongst themselves and expressed to the applicant that they strongly recommend she attend the City's Alcohol Awareness Program before she begins selling alcohol.
Mr. Wisneski moved that the application for a 3.2% off premise fermented malt beverage license for NEA Unlimited, Inc., d/b/a NEA, 5200 W. Colfax Ave., be approved. The motion was seconded and with those present voting Aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION CARRIED.
ITEM 5. MODIFICATION OF PREMISES
Retail Liquor Store License
Kyong Hui Springer, d/b/a Curve Liquors
6795 W. Mississippi Ave.
Deputy City Attorney Paul Kennebeck stated that he had reviewed the application and all documents appear to be in order.
Kyong Springer, 679 W. Mississippi Ave., appeared before the Authority and was sworn in. She testified that her current space is too small and she would like to expand. She collected the signatures by placing the petition on her counter.
Ms. Wolfe moved to approve the modification of premises for Kyong Hui Springer, d/b/a Curve Liquors, 6795 W. Mississippi Ave. The motion was seconded and with those present voting Aye, THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE MODIFICATION CARRIED.
ITEM 6. GENERAL BUSINESS
The Authority discussed having their Christmas Party at Mt. Vernon Country Club again and decided on attempting to get reservations for December 12, 2003.
ITEM 7. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Authority, Chairman Taake adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
