P R O C L A M A T I O N
Recognizing Kathryn Prose
Winner of Colorado State Geography Bee
WHEREAS, On, April 4, 2003, Lakewood resident Kathryn Prose won the Colorado State Geography Bee, co-sponsored by the National Geographic Society and the University of Denver; and
WHEREAS, Kathryn has been participating in the bee for four years and will be a ninth grader at D'Evelyn in the fall where she will pursue studies in Latin, Theatre, English Honors, Non-Western Civilization, Algebra and Biology to name a few; and
WHEREAS, the Colorado House of Representatives honored her achievements in its spring session; and
WHEREAS, we recognized the tremendous amount of training and research Kathryn has encountered during the past years to reach this exciting moment, as well as the positive reinforcement she has received from her parents and teachers.
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Lakewood, I, Steve Burkholder, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby recognize
KATHRYN PROSE
as the winner of the Colorado State Geography Bee and extend to her our best wishes in reaching future endeavors.
