ITEM 1 - CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Burkholder called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Cabinet Room
of the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.

ITEM 3 - REVIEW - CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
City Attorney Roger Noonan introduced several lawyers in the law firm of Gorsuch Kirgis LLP who routinely work on City business. He followed that with a brief power point presentation on the firm and provided several examples of legal services provided to the City of Lakewood through the contract with Gorsuch Kirgis. G&K does not receive a retainer for City representation but bills per hour for work actually done on behalf of the City. A thorough review of the legal contract is conducted every three years.
Following the presentation members of City Council asked questions pertaining to how outside lawyers might be utilized and how prosecution services are provided under the contract. Council agreed by consensus to bring forth a resolution extending the contract with G&K for legal services. The firm has represented Lakewood for 25 years.
