Lindsey Ellis Day Proclamation

P R O C L A M A T I O N

Recognizing April 14, 2003 as
LINDSEY ELLIS DAY

WHEREAS, Lindsey Ellis has demonstrated her musical talents through the mastery of the flute; and

WHEREAS, Lindsey has played the flute for nine years and has studied with Laura Jellicoe from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; and

WHEREAS, Lindsey has also served as the principal flute with the Cheshire Youth Orchestra, the Merseyside Youth Orchestra, the Warrington Schools Concert Band and the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britian; and

WHEREAS, Lindsey's musical talents were demonstrated in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Spain and the United States of America. In 2001, Lindsey was runner up in the Cheshire Schools Young Musician of the Year competition and won a place in the final for July 2002; and

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is extremely proud to welcome Lindsey Ellis as the 2003 representative of the Chester, England Music Scholar Exchange Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Lakewood, I, Steve Burkholder, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim April 14, 2003

in the City of Lakewood, and extend our best wishes to her throughout her musical endeavors.
