A RESOLUTION

FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS AND AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR BID #2331, LAKEWOOD HERITAGE CENTER VISITOR CENTER.

WHEREAS, by Invitation to Bid No. 2331 the City of Lakewood advertised for bids for the Lakewood Heritage Center Visitor Center, and bids were opened on November 7, 2002; and

WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder has been determined to be DSP Builders, Inc., which has submitted its bid in the amount of one million, seven hundred twenty-three thousand dollars ($1,723,000) pursuant to City specifications and instruction, and the City desires to accept the bid of said bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The bid of DSP Builders, inc. for base bid items of the Lakewood Heritage Center Visitor Center as described in Invitation to Bid No. 2331 is hereby accepted according to specifications as delineated in the Invitation to Bid..

SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with the said bidder in form approved by the City Attorney in the amount of one million, seven hundred twenty-three thousand dollars ($1,723,000). the City Manager is hereby further authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, if necessary, change orders to said contract, in form approved by the city attorney, which shall not exceed, in the aggregate, ten percent (10%) of the contract, or one hundred seventy-two thousand, three hundred dollars ($172,300).

SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to DSP Builders, Inc., in accordance with the terms of said contract.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 9 for and 1 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on November 25, 2002 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
