A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO AMENDMENT NUMBER 1 OF AN EXISTING CONTRACT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE UPGRADE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL FIELD EQUIPMENT

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood as a local agency is eligible for funding under the Surface Transportation Program under the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century of 1998 (TEA-21), and;

WHEREAS, Federal Aid funds have been offered to the City of Lakewood by the Denver Regional Council of Governments through the Colorado Department of Transportation, and;

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has a desire to use such funds for the purchase of field traffic signal equipment, and;

WHEREAS, the City will provide the personnel to install the equipment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, Amendment Number 1 to an existing contract with the Colorado Department of Transportation, in form approved by the City Attorney, for the City of Lakewood to receive $750,000.00 in Federal Aid funds for the replacement of field traffic signal equipment.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on March 25, 2002, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
