Request for Council Action for Ordinance 2002-37 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: O-2002-37

SUBJECT: Proposed ordinance amendment to 10.33 of the Lakewood Municipal Code regarding the parking of commercial vehicles and trailers in the public right of way. This ordinance proposes to clean up language and update current information.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance amendment request.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The ordinance 10.33.070 was approved in 1989. This amendment is primarily a reformatting of the current ordinance and is intended to clarify the ordinance by breaking down the ordinance prohibitions and requirements. The changes include:

Adding an administrative fee of $100 for towed vehicles
Deletion of the variance option and process
