Police Investigate Sexual Assault

Lakewood police detectives are investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred on Friday July 24th at about 9:30 pm. in the area of Green Mountain Drive and S. Valentine Way.

A woman who was walking in the area was approached by a man who forced her behind some bushes where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect eventually left on foot, running southeast from the area.

The suspect is described as being possibly Hispanic and in his twenties or thirties with a shaved head. He is about 5’ 8” tall and has a “stocky” build. He was wearing a khaki colored t-shirt and khaki colored cargo shorts.

Detectives are unaware of any similar incidents but as a matter of personal safety always urge caution when walking alone and after daylight hours.
