The Municipal Court handles various municipal code violations. Some citations written by Lakewood police agents are written into the Jefferson County Court. Please check the ticket to confirm which court is handling the case.

The mission of the Municipal Court is to provide fair and appropriate resolutions of municipal code violations.

Paying Fines & Fees:

NEW: Pay your Lakewood Traffic Tickets Online:

Only traffic cases authorized to plead guilty or plea bargain by mail may pay over the internet.

Full payment is expected at the time you are sentenced.

The Court accepts cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Fines and fees by phone at 303-987-7400 (ext. 7) using a credit card between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

An additional fee will be charged for all returned checks.

Records Requests:

Records requests may be obtained by submitting a public records request form in person or via fax at 303-987-7447. Requests may take up to week to process and there will be a $6.00 fee due upon pick of the request.

Audio Court Transcripts:

Audio Court Transcript requests may be obtained by submitting a public records request form in person. Requests may take up to four weeks to process and there will be a $300.00 deposit due upon receipt of the request.

Audio Court CDs:

Audio Court CD requests may be obtained by submitting a public records request form in person. Requests may take up to a week to process and there will be a fee of $25 per CD due upon pick up of the request.
