Seasonal Events Assistant

Job Summary:
Provides assistance to the Heritage, Culture & the Arts Division by supporting the set-up, execution and strike (tear-down) of festivals, amphitheater programs and community events.

Essential Functions:
Set-up and strike/tear-down equipment including but not limited to tables, chairs, tents, temporary event fencing, trash cans, signage, and other supplies for the implementation of community events.

Serves as an on-site support staff person in the coordination of community events. Anticipates event operational needs and responds to requests and inquiries of event exhibitors, vendors, contractors and suppliers as directed or appropriate.

Work involves lifting items that may weigh up to 60 pounds, pushing, climbing, bending, reaching, moving about and driving a golf cart around sites. Work is primarily performed outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Criminal background check is required

Preferred Experience:
• Working with equipment set up and take down or
• Event production or
• Hotel/banquet set-up experience

Salary:
$10.00/hr

Hours of work will vary and most will include evening and weekend hours.

Work to begin approximately June 12, 2010
