Temporary Part Time
Aquatic Nuisance Species Inspector

ANS (Aquatic Nuisance Species)
This position will be responsible for conducting watercraft inspections and decontaminations as specified through the Colorado State ANS Handbook. The training to do the inspections will be provided by Lakewood staff on site. The focus of this position will be staffing the boat inspection station. Additional natural resource related work projects will be assigned as possible to provide variety.

Resource Management Duties
Trails - Erosion control, water bars, clearance, rock walls, leading trail crews
• Riparian areas - Willow staking, shrub planting, improvements
• Re-vegetation - Disturbed areas, weed infested areas, etc
• Signs - Replace, put up, remove, etc.
• Fences – Repair, replace, put up, take down
• Trash/Clean up – Empty trash cans, pick-up trash,
• Small equipment operation – Weed whips, mowers, blowers, chain saws, etc.
• Tractor operation – Mowing, digging, trail construction

Experience
Any experience with natural resources or Aquatic Nuisance Species is preferred but not necessary.

Requirements
18 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license and good driving record is preferred.

Salary
$9.43 - $11.00/hr DOE/DOQ

Season
March – November 2010, to be determined

Hours
Hours will vary and will include weekends, evenings and holidays. Workweek will be four ten-hour days.
